- Here's where the magic happens, our cutie mark vault!- said Starlight cheerfully.
Inkwell looked around the cave, even she in her depressive state found the wall with so many cutiemarks pretty darn...
- Impressive, yeah. So, how does everything works?, - Inkwell tried to look truly interested, but she really wasn't.
- Great question! See, there is the Staff of Sameness. It was one of the great Mage Meadowbrook's nine enchanted items. We are incredibly fortunate to have it here. This is the tool that allows us to free ourselves from our marks! - passionately explained Starlight.
Inkwell looked closer to that stuff and it looked liked stick, yeah just ordinary stick but with a funny shape. "Thanks" to her older sister Inkwell tried to research some artefacts, cause she wanted to be better than her. It didn't worked out obviously, but from what Inkwell learned Meadowbrook only had eight magical items, not nine. And even there was some miraculous nine item, no way that thing has such power.
- Yeah right, maybe others bought that bullshit, but i'm not that dumb. If that thing is that powerful, then they don't need you, any unicorn can wield it and remove cutiemarks. But what happens if i try to do it myself? I don't even need to test it, to say that it wouldn't work, right? - said Inkwell.
Starlight froze for a moment, but then a smile lit on her face again, but a different one, more like and evil green.
- Well, well, looks like someone a very smart cookie, dont'ya, Inkwell? You know, no one here even thought about it that way, they just blindly trust me, - Starlight was still greening.
Inkwell signed:
- Look, i don't really care about all that, just my stupid reporter habbit won't leave me alone. So, let's get to the point, just remove my cutiemark and i will live in you're small little town.
- As you wish - said Starlight, her horn started glowing.
- Just one more thing, i'm really done with cutiemarks, so put you're equal sign somewhere else, on my shoulder or whatever. - Inkwell was so tired of everything, that she didn't even wanted to see fake cutiemark on her flank.
Starlight nodded and within a second, Inkwell cutiemark was gone, trapped in a vault with a bunch of different cutiemarks. Inkwell colors also turned a bit muted and Starlight placed equal sign on her shoulder.
- I'm gonna put one more spell on you, since you know my little secret, you are allowed to get some privileges, bit the others shouldn't know that. For them you're new cutiemark would be in the right place, but you will see it on you're shoulder. We wouldn't want to hurt their little brains with new lies, woud we? - Starlight said with a smirk on her face.
- Yeah, whatever, - answered Inkwell.

After everything that happened with Quibble Pants(their broken relationship due to her pregnancy, which lead Inkwell to give up her foal for adoption). Inkwell was dissapointed in everyone yet again and this time she build new higher walls around herself. She didn't need friends or anybody for that matter. Inkwell focused on finishing institute and finding job. But when she accomplished that, she found her job very boring and not so great. I mean her sister Daring Do was famous author and she just some lame reporter. So, when she was sent to strange ghost town, Inkwell didn't expect much of it. That's where she met Starlight and learned about Our Town. But if Inkwell wasn't that depressed at that point in her life, maybe everything turned out differently for her, who knows. The thing is Inkwell is really great reporter, she just doesn't see it. But Inkwell was smart enough to realize Starlight lies. And the thing is why Starlight didn't freak out about this, cause Inkwell wasn't going anywhere. Inkwell iked the idea of everyone being the same, she just wish her sister was in that town, where no one cares about her stupid books. So, Inkwell gave up her cutiemark and found herself a new "home".
